Ballong-rykten

In this week's edition of Uppsalatidningen there's a short article about Maria Sörgjerd and her book, which will soon be released. The reporter asks her about the background to the book about Roxette and what she means when she says that the fans have their own rituals. It says in the article that rumour has it that the ritual with the balloons all started in Gränby ishall (a sports arena in Uppsala) in 1988. Well... It was probably not there exactly that this ritual started (even if the Uppsala population likes to believe that this was the case), but of course there were balloons at Roxette concerts in the eighties too!

She has a train goin' downtown

She's got a club on the moon

But she's tellin' all her secrets

In a wonderful balloon

She's the heart of the fun fair

She's got me whistlin' her private tune

(Gessle, Joyride, 1991)
